Stations
Sled push
A weighted sled driven forward across the floor using the legs and a braced upper body.
ReadSled pull
A weighted sled dragged towards you hand-over-hand with a rope, from inside a marked box.
ReadWall balls
A squat into a throw: a weighted ball is squatted with, then thrown to a target on the wall and caught.
ReadFarmers carry
Walking a set distance holding a heavy weight in each hand at your sides.
ReadBurpee broad jump
A burpee that finishes with a two-footed jump forward instead of a jump on the spot.
ReadSandbag lunge
Walking lunges with a sandbag carried across the shoulders, over a set distance.
ReadEquipment
Training terms
Compromised running
Running with legs and lungs already fatigued from strength or station work.
ReadAMRAP
As Many Rounds (or Reps) As Possible in a fixed time.
ReadEMOM
Every Minute On the Minute — a set amount of work at the top of each minute, with the remainder as rest.
ReadFunctional fitness
Training built around movements the body actually uses — squatting, hinging, pushing, pulling, carrying and running.
